Fifth graders across the district spent some time this spring writing persuasive essays for the Annual Kennebunk Rotary Essay Contest. They wrote about what they would do to better the town with 200 dollars, and the winners would see their ideas come to life. KCS runner up Sam Nill wrote about creating a community garden for the hungry while KCS winner Chris Dakers proposed a scavenger hunt for tourists when they visit the area, with clues that lead them to some of the beautiful sights and scenes in Kennebunkport. Congrats to all fifth graders for their hard work in writing these essays and to the winners of the contest!
Second graders from Mrs. Washburn's class spent time with volunteers from the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust today. This fun, hands-on, learning experience focused on erosion, interconnected habitats, and our Maine woods.
